~>>GAME START<<~ Do this quickly - Assume constant villager production the entire game.
*ALL TO FOOD
*Get crates
*Build market and get hunting dogs
*Spare wood = manors
*ALL TO FOOD

~>>AGE 1<<~
*If something like 70 wood left over from building, collect just enough for one more manor
*ALL TO FOOD
*All TO FUCKING FOOD.
-Card 1 - if TRADE ROUTE = 3 vils
*ASAP GO TO Age to 2 (with 500 food) opposed to 2 vils

~>>AGE 2 IN QUE<<~ (Leave 2 settlers on food the entire time)
-Card 2 = Exotic Hardwoods (20% to upgrade) opposed to economic theory
*Stockpile 100 food then research 10% wood at market
*Swap ALL settler to wood. But leave a few to stockpile 250 coin before you hit age2 so you can research the Age2 wood upgrade immediately as you age up.
*I'll say it again - SWAP settlers to wood
*BUILD MANNORS. If you have more than 135 wood stockpiled then you're not building them quick enough.
*At around 15 manors built - start to transition settlers back to food and coin. Make sure you get ALL the market upgrades before swapping the majority of your settlers back to food and coin.
*Once 20 manors aim to get 1200 food and 1000 coin at the same time then age to Age3

~>>AGE 3 IN QUE<<~
*Aim to collect 2000 food and 1200 coin for the exact same moment so you can age up to 4 the moment you hit Age3, you should be able to get these in age 2 before you even get to age 3
*Make sure you have all the market upgrades, but you should have done this a while ago

~>>AGE 3<<~
-You should have the resources, put Age4 in queue the MOMENT you hit age 3
-Card 3 = Refrigeration``
-Card 4 = Royal Mint

~>>AGE 4 IN QUE<<~ (1000 coin)
-You're now going to prepare your eco to max settlers via the estate card
*Swap settlers mostly to food, but leave enough on coin.
*Put all 20 manors into a ctrl group for quick access

~>>AGE 4<<~
-Card 5 = Estates -when this arrives find the ctrl group and queue a settler in every manor, keep doing this each time you have 2000 food until you've maxed settlers
-Card 6 = Factory (use the 1000 coin you aged up with to get the 1500xp from the church)
-Card 7 = Factory
-Card 8+ = This now really depends on available xp throughout the game but you now only need to get the mill and plantation homecity upgrade. Although, do make sure you get the train fasters before the treaty ends and military upgrades are NOT ESSENTIAL - get them
after the eco upgrades. <-- Once the fighting begins you'll have more than enough xp coming in to get military upgrades.

*Collect 4000 food and 4000 coin for the exact same moment then go to age 5. Still should not be building mills/plantations yet as this slows you down - there should still be enough natural resources on the map. Your eco will be sooo much stronger if you race as fast as you can for the capitol upgrades

~>>AGE 5 IN QUE<<~
*Stockpile enough food and coin to get the capitol wood upgrade (1000 of each)
*Swap every settler to wood and start to build mills/plantations in the ratio you need. You might want to build one of each early on to get the upgrades researched before you start full scale collecting from them.
*I personally build the mills/plantations but don't collect from them until most of them are fully built

~>>AGE 5<<~
*sort it out. Just set up your eco on mills/plantations. Get all the capitol upgrades. Deforestation is the first one.
*Now you're on your own: You'll need walls, upgrades, military.

Youtube Support Videos / Video Guide Requests! ~Interjection
« on: June 30, 2012, 01:36:18 PM »
Just read the first paragraph, from there on it's up too you.

I'd eventually like to start making videos on how to perform a particular build order for a particular strategy. For example, I might make a video explaining fully how to Fast Fortress (with a few things work understanding). Or I might explain how to perform a power jan Otto rush. (I won't pretend I'm a pro though, learning a BO is easy - knowing what to do after is what makes the pros pro hehe.)

If you have any worthwhile suggestions on what video build order I could make, or if particular suggestions become asked frequently then I migth consider making a video on it. Of course, this might mean I have to explore it fully before I make a video, which will be interesting :)

If you'd like to know a what a Build Order (BO) is more fully then read on, otherwise feel free to post from  here.

Please know I've detailed a Ottoman Jan Rush BO below if it interests you.

What is a BO?

Following a BO allows you to perform a strategy properly.

A BO is the cards you might send, the resources you might collect, the age up time targets you should reach, the switching of settlers onto different resources at particular times to achieve something - among other things which makes a build order (BO) what it is.
For example, a Ottoman Janissary rush BO: -This start involves pumping non-stop jans from two barracks without missing a group (At least at the very start of the game).

After the BO, the rest of the game should be played to your knowledge/experience. A guide cannot help you from here on out. Knowing what to do after the BO is what separates the good players from the pros.
_______________________

An Example BO for an Ottoman Double Barracks Jan Spam:

-Build a TP from the very start of the game for xp (this allows more future shipments for your rush)
-Collect 800 food and age up ASAP (to make your rush as fast and aggressive as possible)
-Selected politician which grants you 400 wood (for a barracks and two houses)
^
~>>THE AGE UP BUTTON HAS NOW BEEN PRESSED<<~
^
-Leave your settlers on food BUT switch 4 to wood (Allows you to place a barracks the moment you hit age 2)
-Switch settlers to coin (between 4-6) so that you can pay your jans
^
~>>THE MOMENT YOU REACH AGE TWO<<~
^
-Place your first barracks, que the 700 food and 600 food shipments, tell some settlers to collect the 400 wood so that you can build another barracks and two houses.
-Use the food to spam jans, try to miss a jan.
-Leave 2 settlers on wood for the fourth house which you WILL need.
-Leave about 6 settlers on coin to sustain the coin production you will need for the spam - the food coems from crates in the early game.
-Ship 5Jans/3Huss after the 600 food.
-All new settlers to food

-Again, after the initle spam/attack the rest of the game should be played to your knowledge/experience. A guide cannot help you from here on out. You must play your eco properly using a market when practical, use your units properly, maintain your idles settlers, switch units when you know you need too and rearrange your eco to support this, choose to age up at the most advantageous time.

Knowing what to do after the BO is what separates the good players from the pros.
